Looking in the current C3D 'Help" window regarding the Material Browser, it says that the ability to "Find Materials" is offered... talking about entering keywords in the "upper right search field" but I can't find just where that is.

And also, while I'm at it, amongst the materials that come with C3D, there used to be a material called 'car paint' or something like that, with a transparent layer somehow mixed in, but doesn't seem to be available. Is there an easy formula for creating that shiny-car (not plastic) look?

Hi! I am in the process of doing my first animation in Cheetah3D (which I love!) and I'd be really grateful for help! I am trying to get a realistic looking tarmac road surface for a scene. I have used a 'solid' tarmac material but it does not look realistic. I have come across some tarmac textures depicting the gravel makeup etc which are perfect, but when I apply them to the road, they are distorted over the entire length of the road surface. I am sure that I am missing something simple, but I am on a learning curve at the moment. Thanks in advance!
